As a Club President that does WW2 Reenacting at line up, we ask did anyone live fire recently and then Allied team check Axis ammo pouches and weapon breaches and BFA's and the Axis team check the Allies. As of yet we have not found a live round in our safety checks. Stories of such events are cannon and clubs that had been loose with safety and not vetting new guys are guilty. Fortunately nothing fatal and in the last 20 years only 3 instances of live rounds fired at an event in all of the US. All 3 instances at the fault of the Allies.

Awesome reenactment! I see a lot of these reenactments on RUclips, but I reckon that having a Black American here and there would be a nice touch. And no I'm not harping on about diversity, its just that whenever i see actual Vietnam combat footage, there is at least one Black dude there. It would add to the realism thats all.

I didn't see any footage of World War I or Korea or Middle Eastern Wars Iran and Afghanistan. Lots of American Revolution but hymn not written until American Civil War Era.

And to think the actual battle had over 200,000 troops combined. If there is only 10,000 reenacting here, then just imagine the scale of the battle. Even if it was over a larger area. It’s still mad to think about. Not to mention the 650+ collective artillery pieces in the battle. Just mad. But then again, it is the largest battle to ever take place in the Western Hemisphere.

In the early 70s when I was in high school, the Ohio Music Educators Association sponsored a music festival where the area music directors selected singers and instrumentalists to spend a day rehearsing. In the evening, the 2 groups would perform those pieces. It always ended with this arrangement of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" with both groups. It was amazing!! I was lucky to have been able to perform in 2 of these festivals.
